LONATO CASTLE

The Visconti-Venetian fortress has very ancient origins. The presence of an initial fortified nucleus around the 11th century is attested, and it was enlarged and modified over the centuries by the powers that dominated the territory, including the Visconti, Gonzaga and the Republic of Venice.
It is one of the most imposing fortifications in all of Lombardy, and from its walls one can admire the entire southern basin of Lake Garda, the town of Lonato and the Brescia plain.

It houses the Museo Civico Ornitologico (Ornithological Museum), an immersive hall, and a room dedicated to temporary exhibitions.
It periodically hosts events such as "Fiori nelle Rocca", "Lonato in Festival" and "Fiabe nella Rocca".
