The ancient Benedictine "Abatiola" stood since the end of the 9th century.
After the unification with the Abbey of San Benedetto Po in Polirone (Mantova) in 1490, it was rebuilt almost from the foundations and decorated with the beautiful RenaissanceChurch and with the elegant  courtyard (1491-1496).

Inside the church we note the large altarpiece depicting the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, a work by Alessandro Bonvicino, called Moretto, and collaborators.
The Abbey of Maguzzano is nestled in a wonderful landscape that descends from the hills to the shores of the Lake Garda.

From July 2021, the Maguzzano Abbey Museum will be open every day of the week by appointment.
Open to individuals without reservation every Sunday at 4pm.
